Hi gents my thinking I've got a Maharaja of Jodhpurs variant here ,don't know if it's an early one or later one ,this has an extra ring near the bolster and a curved grip .
Weighs 766 Grams ,13.5 inch blade ,nice cut kaudi, stamped FG234 on the end of the handle ,has some
Blueing left on the blade ,seems well made,
Any thoughts on this piece welcome
Regards
Highlander

Nice find Highlander!

I saw this one come up, and there was another interesting piece with it too?

As far as i recall, the assumption is that the FG stands for "Fort Guard" but I am sure a search of these boards will reveal more!

I have one somewhere, I will see if I can find some pictures of it...

I like the curved grip ones, feels more ergonomic in hand.

Have you read the posts by Andreas on these? {He spoke to the curator of the Arsenal they cane from.}

There is a book about the Jodhpur armoury in the pipeline I believe. By Robert Elgood...

Wonder why they did them with a staight handle aswel as the curved .
I take it if they were both stamped the same FG then number they were made ,issued at the same time .?
Ill check out Andreas posts thanx
Would love to see a book on them ,or any book on kukri actually
