I bought this knife a while back. I thought it was a WWII era MK3 but after reading these posts (see links below) I have my doubts. LOA: 18" LOB: 12" What do others think?

Hi and a warm welcome.
I see you have been busy looking through our archives and you have picked up a few pointers.
I'm not sure when these Mklll types first came to be but as you think it isn't WWll era.
I hope you still enjoy your Kukri and I hope one of our more knowledgeable chaps will pitch in and give you more information about your Kukri and the type.
Other than that as long as it keeps a good edge I would be happy to put it to work. I have personally found the Mklll a very useful tool.

Happy new year to you and thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Captain.

I wonder if this is an India military issue Kukri, whose design was based on the MK3? It is definitely not a MK3. It's not a tourist item. I don't think it is a "villager" either. I would not expect to find stamps like this on a villager. I don't think it is a fake either. I would expect the stamps on the blade to be more like those found on the real MK3 if it were a fake. Just a guess. I do see a fair number of these for sale for under $100, but their origin/age is unclear. Anyone else here have one of these?

It's a MK3, just not a WW2 era British issue. I'm guessing it might be India military issue (post 1947 independence). I am hoping someone here can confirm , or refute, that.

Unfortunately being marked India probably means its made for export. Many firms market these, there often made by Windlass steel crafts & widely marketed particularly in the UsA.
