Hi guys picked up this Kora hilted piece off a friend, it looks very similar is style to my lambendh ,same Kaudi with small peg ,similar spine fuller ,and same blade length 15 inch, laminated blade .
Has some Nepalese script on the spine .
I know the Kora hilt would of been put on later.
Blade looks old to me, would this originally of be a Lambendh kukri then rehilted with the kora hilt .
All your thoughts welcome
Highlander

Another great find Highlander.

I think that it's certainly possible that the blade was once a lambendha, though to my eye it doesn't quite have the drop. That said we've all seen lambendha with a wide range of curvature and drop. To me your piece looks a lot like those Ben Judkins referred to as Military Sirupati's in his article on the AC cache. https://chinesemartialstudies.com/2012/ ... ary-kukri/

Hi Paul thanx for the picts ,it was the kuadi and the fuller on the blade that makes me think it could be a lambendh ,exactly like the other one i have i think ,i know what your saying about drop tho .so could be wrong .

You're quite right, those two features are more refined on your example than those from the AC cache (from what I can see in those pics) and very similar to many lambendha including your own.
