Hi, I have a par of Kukri. From reading this forum and browsing the internet I suspect they are 'tourist Kukri'. The story behind them is that I was given them by my Uncle who was in the Black Watch and fought alongside the Gurkas. He brought them back with him after he fought in Kenya. My Grandma banned them from the house when he got back as she hated them and how sharp they were.

I've owned them for around 15 years he brought them back to the UK in the 50's so I guess theyre about 60-70 years old.
They weigh around 540 grams and their length is around 17'. The spine is only around 6-7mm thick. The silver bands, end cap and sheath point seem to be silver in colour rather than brass.

I'd love some advice on them before I attempt some restoration work on them.

I'll try and attach a few pics...

Many thanks in advance
