Looking to try and avoid the same mistake I made with my first purchase which was a fake 1917 marked blade I thought I asked everyone’s view of these kukri’s.

All opinions welcome, I hold no one accountable for the advice just looking for an educated opinion even a Guess will do.

I like the two without the metal bolster, but really not sure if this are authentic or not, after reading the posts here I do not think anyone can be !!!

I have ask for more detailed photos of markings on the blades if any, one seems to have some.

Many thanks.

Its a recent commercial Indian copy of the mk.3 kukri.

Its most likely made by windlass in India and there heavily marketed by Atlanta cutlery in USA.

Can this topic be moved to the discussion forum I think I posted it in the wrong place ?

Anyway - maybe we should have a discussion forum called fake or real ?

I found this for sale at auction. I have ask the auction house to say it’s a replica or reproduction on the description let’s if if they do - so if you really want one here another for sale identical to the one I bought two weeks ago.

https://www.stroudauctions.co.uk/0169da ... tail&year=

The second is a little different - probably a windlass with an odd guard and fake markings but happy to be corrected - still learning about them. Additional photos provided by the auction house.

Hi Scott,

I dont seem to have the ability to move your post. Ive contacted Captain to see if he can..

Failing that can I suggest you copy and paste your posts into a new thread on that forum?

many thanks for moving the post, appreciated.

I did get a response from the UK auction house who said they would update the description - but it still doesn't look like they have.

I've place a bid for #2 hopefully I get it :) , auction is tomorrow.

I have another question, after reading the post from someone selling the Kukri on ebay recently.

I found one seller who seems to have everything I have tried to search for in terms of marks/stamps on the blades - hennadiy2006

https://www.ebay.com.sg/sch/i.html?_nkw ... =1&_ipg=50

He seems to have a lot of the Atlanta Cutlery (IMA) at three times the cost they have them listed on their site.

He has a very odd looking WSC blade -

And a large number of Pioneer Calcutta stamped blades.

Not that I will be buying any, but has anyone looked at this sellers items - has anyone purchased anything, and are any of them original ?

Many thanks.

This has a stamp of WSC and broad Arrow Mark - see item https://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/Vintage-Ind ... SwNSxVZziw

you need to scroll down to see all the photos posted of it.

Also the item in the auction didn't reach it's reserve so I didn't get it for 2 pounds

Ok yes thats a post world war mk.3 kukri made by windlass steel crafts {wsc} in India, Id guess the kukri is 1970s {just a guess}

When reading the abbrevations, theres sometimes more than one potential meaning.

But as one of the first to call out fakes, I have to say its in no way miss described...

Which is almost unusual amongst antique kukri on ebay....

You bid £2 ? you reckless spend thrift you! It was worth a tenner at least!

Mind you c.£30 odd for packing and postage rather ruins the lower end pieces prices anyway...
